Display promotional posters
Promote the event and raise awareness. We also have great “placemats” which raise much needed awareness about kidney disease.
Set up a donation box
Encourage guests to donate, have the receipt register there for them to fill out to receive a tax deduction and entries into the prize draw (depending on donation amount).
The easiest way to raise funds for your BBQ is to charge an entry fee of request a donation from each person who attends. But just in case you would like to do more, here are some more creative ways to raise money.
Promotion
Make sure you promote your event to all your friends and work colleagues. You can do this through our great invitations or email/text everyone to remind them.
Current events
You could organise your BBQ to coincide with an event that is already happening, such as a team meeting or end-of-month get together.
Raffle
Raffles are an effective way to raise extra funds and tailor your barbeque to your guests. You can raffle anything from holidays away to concert and sporting tickets.
Auction
Auction off donated items at your barbeque. Absolutely anything can be donated and auctioned from paintings to bikes.
Pre-event donations
Let everyone know that they can make a donation before the event, especially if they are unable to attend. Many hosts raise extra funds this way.
Dollar-for-dollar matching for work barbeques
Most companies like to support their employees’ fundraising efforts by matching the funds they raise. You might like to ask your manager if your company will consider this.
After your event
Let everyone know how much you all raised and thank everyone for their support.
